5 Reasons Why a Man Falls Deeply in Love With a Woman
How I discovered the fine line between true love and lust
Love, Lies & Reality
I remember watching Bollywood movies where love is often depicted as idyllic — the handsome hero falling for the beautiful heroine drawn to her kohl-rimmed eyes or sweet smile. It was perfectly the opposite of what I’ve observed living in a city like Boston, where dating seems more like a job hunt.
You get matched, you feel a spark of hope, but nope — just a candle in the wind, or a total nightmare once you dig deeper. Or worse, you get ghosted — thanks to the emotionally immature, non-accountability crew out there. Dating feels like a hunt, whether in a pub or on a dating site — sometimes a jungle of hormones and other times beautifully crafted lies, intricate masks, and a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.
That’s another thing Bollywood didn’t mention. A boy meets a girl, they get married against all odds since love conquers all, and live happily ever after. How domestic. There was no talk about compatibility — whether physical, values, social, intellectual, or even lifestyle — by that, I mean being financially on the same page.
Are these new-age fads or are Bollywood love stories just a lie? Does love really conquer all or do you figure out the challenges of marriage after defying parents and society to be with the one you love? It’s a huge risk in my opinion, because w when the waves of passion ebb, what’s left might be — well, nothing.
